We have finally been granted permission for NIGHT FISHING for a trial period of 12 months. This is only a temporary permission and the granting of full permission will be conditional on everyone respecting the rules listed on this website and on Go Catch. Bookings link you to Go Catch. Howle Pool has been netted to improve fish quality and size. We have removed a total weight of 860lbs of smaller fish, averaging 3lbs and down. This is a pool management strategy. Obviously not all of the small fish were removed, but by reducing numbers and by feeding the fish regularly, we are hoping to encourage growth of the larger specimen carp. We intend to net again at the end of the year and, at an appropriate time, to introduce some perch to further manage the small fish population. We have created a new car park for Howle Pool. This is situated on the opposite side to the original car park, which is a more convenient location for the majority of pegs. The old car park is now closed except for access to peg 8.
