NOTICES

Howle Pool has been netted to improve fish quality and size. We have removed a total weight of 860lbs of smaller fish, averaging 3lbs and down. This is a pool management strategy. Obviously not all of the small fish were removed, but by reducing numbers and by feeding the fish regularly, we are hoping to encourage growth of the larger specimen carp. We intend to net again at the end of the year and, at an appropriate time, to introduce some perch to further manage the small fish population.

About us

Howle Pool Fishery

Howle Pool is a still water fishery located in Shropshire, conveniently close to the A41 Chester to Wolverhampton road. There is secure parking with toilet facilities. The owners have taken steps to facilitate disabled access.

Fish Stocks: Common Carp, Mirror Carp. In the past the pool was also stocked with some roach and tench. We have removed large quantities of these on each netting, but inevitably a few remain!

Fishery Type: Coarse

Location Type: Stillwater

Another good morning at Howle. Different approach this week as it was only a short session. Avon rod and float tactics. A dozen carp and a handful of roach.

Beautiful and peaceful. Just the sound of the wildlife for company. Rods are out so now we sit and wait. But not very long, left hand rod roared off.....
